What concerns or obstacles initially made you hesitant about joining my coaching program?

For me it was a mental challenge due to life circumstances over a number of years. I started putting on weight after I got married December 2018, then covid hit and I had to cancel my gym membership, then I got pregnant in 2021 and due to high risk of pre term labour i could only do minimal exercise, we knew we were going to have 2 kids so between pregnancies I just thought what's the point of getting my health back now, then got pregnant again in 2023. I was in a pretty poor mental state during most of that time period but just knew that once the second baby was born I could "reclaim my body" and i really focussed on reaching that point. I also knew that I wouldn't have time to exercise nearly as much as I used to, so most of the magic needed to be done it the kitchen, not in the gym (I have since learned from you how much work actually NEEDS to be done in the kitchen, time poor or not).
So yeah, the short answer to that question is that post 2018 I guess my personal circumstances and subsequent mental state are what took me so long. To a degree, prior to 2018 I was also trying to out train a bad diet. While I had heard the phrase you can't out train a bad diet before, I didn't realise how true that was.
I'll admit the cost of tour program was also more than I was expecting and if I hadn't already mentally committed myself knowing that I needed it, then I may not have went through with it. But I reminded myself that I used to pay XY per week for a gym membership so your program was the equivalent of XY weeks gym membership and was going to give me results that last much longer than XY weeks.

What results did you achieve through my coaching program?

The obvious one is fat loss. Since I started your program in April I have consistently lost over 2kg every month. Yes it's slow and there are faster ways to lose more body fat, but my diet is sustainable and healthy.
I know people that do keto, juice cleanses, shakes, high protein, no carbs, cave man diets, intermittent fasting, at the end of the day these methods all ultimately work because they are putting you in a calorie deficit, but they are mostly ultimately not sustainable and they are not teaching you to manage your diet long term.

What specific part of the program did you find most valuable?

For me I needed someone to guide me through the fog of misinformation. There are so many fad diets and influencers pushing their own agenda that it does start to become confusing. I would start to eat a healthier diet but then the evil voice inside my head would say you don't know what you're doing, you're depriving yourself of that maxibon for nothing. So you might as well just eat it and enjoy the short term high that it gives you.

What are three additional benefits you gained from the program?

- I have a better understanding of reading nutrition labels, particularly around sugars
- I actually enjoy having a healthy diet I'm actually liking vegetables rather than tolerating them
- Mostly, I can tell that I am becoming a happier and more confident person

Would you recommend my coaching services to others?

Yes and I have recommended to some. I haven't told many people that I have actively been trying to lose weight because I want to wait until people notice I've lost weight. When they notice (which is starting to happen now) I tell them about you.

Lastly, how has all of this impacted your role as a mother?

We are much more mindful of the food that we feed to Jack although he has recently entered a fussy eating phase which does make things challenging. While he does still occasionally have weet bix for breakfast if that's what he wants, I try to encourage a much more balanced meal and have started feeding him smoothies in his subo bottle. I have the exact same smoothie for breakfast (Oats, yoghurt, chia seeds, banana, mango).
Jack often wakes up from his naps in a bad mood so I try to make sure he has an early lunch before his nap and I have noticed that when I can make this happen he tends to wake up happier.
I'm also more mindful of nutrients and the role that they play for our bodies. Now that Lachlan is eating solids I'm very mindful of giving him iron rich foods as that's what his body needs right now. When Jack was a baby I don't think I placed enough value in feeding him the right foods. As a baby i did only feed him foods that would be considered "healthy" but I didn't put enough value on feeding him the right nutrients.

I have always known as a mother that I need to make time for me so that I can give the best of me to my kids. Mostly I related this to fitting in time a few times a week to exercise. I am now realising that this is also true for providing myself with a balanced diet. I am no longer eating foods that I know will make me feel terrible afterwards (well not very often anyway) and I know that the happier I become with my body, the happier I am becoming with life in general and this is showing in my interactions with my kids. I have more patience and more tolerance for inevitable tantrums. I feel like I can regulate myself better around them and for them which creates much more wholesome family time.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I really don't know where this fits or if it serves you any purpose but I feel like it needs to be said.... in the past I would have always chosen a gym membership over nutritional help. I guess that's because going to the gym is fun but a healthy diet is the opposite of fun. I know that you can still allow room for "naughty foods" but ultimately fat loss does require you to consciously restrict certain foods, so it's not very appealing to people who also want to have a good time.
While putting my money into a gym membership does still give me more fun than putting my money into a nutritionist, the gym membership can only get you so far and I don't think a lot of people realise that. For people that genuinely want to drop a few kilos they really do need to realise that they can't out train a bad diet and if they need to choose one over the other due to financial or any other restrictions, a nutritionist is the one to choose.

Lastly, THANK YOU. Without your help I genuinely do not think that I would have lost very much weight. Prior to working with you I had adjusted my diet to be around 1200 calories a day which was not sustainable. I know I would have given up by now and gone back to bad habits. Because I have worked with you my diet is sustainable and I have confidence that I can continue with what I'm doing in the long term. You have been judgement free and I have felt safe being open and honest with you. You're the best
